ICCOPS International Centre for Coastal and Ocean Policy Studies

ICCOPS is a non-governmental organisation founded in 1992 in Genova, Italy with the aim of:

• Serving as a point of reference for groups and experts in coastal- and ocean-related studies
• Carrying out research projects into all aspects of integrated coastal management
• Furthering international networking with similar institutions
• Promoting meetings to discuss current practices and future trends in sea use management

ICCOPS has got the observer status for the Mediterranean Action Plan of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP/MAP) and for the Commission on Sustainable Development of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC/CSD)
