From DATA to Landscape Interpretation

A method to select DATA is important to individuate the most significant information and to choose which kind of analysis to deepen in relation to the specific characteristics of a landscape.
If we assume landscape as a complex reality, we need to study its components, working in an interdisciplinarian way, pointing out intersections and connections between different knowledges, to focus on the individual problem of that landscape.
Integration is a need: landscape is a "perceived" reality and we must assume a role of mediation, listening to people's asking and to people's assessment.
We have to establish links among the different studied elements and among the different groups of citizens, operators, administrators, inhabitants, visitors….
All the different points of view are an enrichment of our interpretation.
The aim of the study is to re-assemble a synthetic olistic view of the landscape, seen in all its space-time dimensions, in order to imagine future sceneries and strategies to control and manage the changes.
