ECO-IMAGINE (Next steps)

Giorgio Saio

GISIG - Geographical Information Systems International Group (IT)

The previous ECO-IMAGINE events have provided the background to create a network of people and organisations experienced in the issues of Integrated Coastal Area Management and Geographical Information.

The following steps of the ECO-IMAGINE project are: the improvement of the new ECO-IMAGINE web-site, the collection of the presentations and contributions as well as the next ECO-IMAGINE EuroEvents and the new opportunities for the Researchers.

The restyled web-site (http://www.gisig.it/eco-imagine) is a useful tool for the storage and the exchange of information and it has been recently provided with the ECO-IMAGINE Forum, where everyone can participate in debates and discussions on the ICAM-GI themes.

The whole training material will be collected and organised in order to make available as soon as possible the abstracts, the presentations and any other kind of contribution in the proceedings area of the web-site.

About 125 grants (over the 250 initial) will be at disposal to support the participation of researchers for the next events:

1. Early-stage Researchers (PRIORITY)
- at the beginning of their career;
- < 4 years of active research experience (e.g. researchers undertaking a doctoral degree);
2. Experienced Researchers
- at least 4 years of active research experience;
- or, have obtained a doctoral degree;
- in this action, researchers with > 10 years experience will be not eligible.

Finally the ECO-IMAGINE Forum and the next event of Cork (IE) are introduced.
