The presentation outlines the ECO-IMAGINE project and its running
development.
The background (partnership and European context) of ECO-IMAGINE is shown and
is presented the approach chosen for the sake of activating a better link between
the coastal and the GI communities and of offering them a common meeting point
(in conferences and in training courses like this one, but as well on the web).
Facing the needs of the stakeholders and the existing problems, the project structure and the set-up facilities are exposed as a contribution for the European researchers. The presentation describes then approach, content, addresses and characters of the project and the leading themes as per its Working Groups.
A synopsis of the project timetable is offered, accompanied by
the session scheme of the present training course.
The programme of the training course "Coastal Governance, Planning, Design
and GI" is illustrated as well as the contents.
The ESRI Award is pointed out as news of ECO-IMAGINE, with the list of the projects and the posters in competition and the voting procedures.
The aim of the speech is to deliver to the convened researchers a key to better exploit the training course and to help them in linking it to the everyday research work and to the possible future perspective that it could trigger.
