Abstract
At the poster there are presented results of the
methodical case studies connecting land cover changes in the coastal zone and
the coastline changes characteristic.
The study area it is 1,5 km long section of the coastal located just at the
Swina mouth at the Pomeranian Bay. This section of the coast it is very well
know area in Poland with the greatest accumulation process about 1,5 m/y. we
can observed dunes formation and a semi natural plant succession there.
Six series of historical air photographs taken between 1937 and 1996 were used
for the research. Air photographs were converted into digital form and rectified
to UTM projection using ERDAS - Imagine software.
There were selected 6 classes of land cover at the investigated area. Value
of surfaces covered by each class were study as a results and their relation
to coastal changes process.
