Organisation description

Local Development Enterprises S.A. (AN.DI.P.) is an inter-municipal societe anonyme which is based on Presidential Decree 323/89. Its partners are the Municipalities of Drapetsona, Keratsini, Korydallos, Nikaia, Perama and Piraeus.
The company was established in 15/3/1989 (GG 548 20/3/89). Its registered offices are in Keratsini and it is directed by a 15-member Board of Directors representative of the Town Councils.
AN.DI.P. S.A. is member of the Hellenic Association of Development Agencies (HELADA), and the European Association of Development Agencies (EURADA).

The company's organization in terms of technical infrastructure and scientific staff, the exchange of experience between development agencies, the contribution of academics and experts to every programme elaborated have created the necessary mechanisms to deal with a large spectrum of issues which face both the Local Authorities and the private sector.

The company's activities include:

• Provision of technical support to Local Authorities and Cooperative Organizations, as well as to their enterprises and those of other legal entities they set up or in which they participate.
• Studies and research of all types (viability, feasibility, technical, land-planning, etc.)
• Training programmes for the staff of Local Authorities, Cooperative Organisations and their enterprises, as well as for the private sector.
• Provision of technical support to investment initiatives either of the private or the public sector.
• Planning and implementation of programmes concerning environmental protection and improvement, in collaboration with other agencies, public and otherwise.
• Application of computer science in the Municipalities (introduction of computer networks, communication networks, G.I.S. etc.). through GEORAMA, which is a modern Centre of Geographical Information Systems that has been in operation since 1993 and is continuously expanding by the acquisition of new technology and know-how.

The Centre is fully furnished with the up-to-date equipment and especially with the scientific human resources that afford integrated services in the different stages of the collection, the process, the organization and the administration of spatial data.

The studies and research are carried out by the company's services in collaboration with special researchers in Greece or abroad. On computer-related matters, the company collaborates with special scientists and/or organised companies and institutes.

Facilities and infrastructures

All activities hosted by ANDIP SA will take place in Piraeus in a fully equipped conference hall.
In particular facilities will be available for

• simultaneous interpretation into English language
• Presentation (audio-visual equipment)

Moreover, conference material and catering will be supplied.
