Organisation description
The Department for the Study of the Territory and
its Resources was created with the will to converge, in a single structure,
university staff and researchers originating from different disciplinary
and cultural backgrounds with mutual scientific interests and similar
research and professional objectives. The analysis and study of environmental
components, considered in the territorial system, represent the basis
of mutual cultural and scientific interests with all the potentiality
for an orientated, finalized and applied research.
The cultural heterogeneity and the methodological homogeneity of the afferent,
allow for a development and a thorough analysis of the current research
themes.
Amongst the different aims of the Department there is the will to bring
expressive contributions to the surmonting of the typical barriers of
the disciplinary system, and the will to influence policies in territorial
management and its correct planning. Planning must respond not only to
political demands but foremost to cultural and scientific needs. The Department
also wants to guarantee a correct diffusion of environmental issues both
in schools and in the community.
