HOW TO GET
TO GENOVA CITY CENTRE

From the airport
- by bus
the Cristoforo Colombo airport is rather close to the downtown and easily
connected to it by a shuttle bus leaving from the airport (and getting
there): "Volabus", every 30', from 06.15 to 23.45. With Volabus
from the airport you arrive to Stazione Principe, to downtown and to
Stazione Brignole according to the needs. The price of the bus ticket
is 2.07 Euro and the ticket can be bought on the bus from the driver.
- by taxi:
You find easily taxis, otherwise the radio taxi phone number is 010
5966. The cost of the trip from and to the airport would be approx.
25 Euro according to the traffic conditions.
- by car:
All the major car rental companies can be found at the airport.
From the railway station:
There are two main railway stations: Genova Piazza Principe, and Genova
Brignole, both close to the city centre. Most trains stop at both of them,
but not all, so check which station is closer to your hotel or to the
conference venue.
Many bus lines leave from both stations to all destinations. You have
to buy tickets (valid 90') 1 Euro, at tobacconists, and newsagents.
From the highway:
Two highway junctions are suitable: Genova Ovest and Genova Est:
- From Genova Ovest you follow the signs for "Strada
Sopraelevata" and follow this "overground"
way for its whole length (look at the panorama!). At the end you are
near the fairground, in the city centre.
- From Genova Est you follow the signs for "Genova
Centro", turning right at the junction. Go straight on for some
km (always "Centro cittą"). When passed under the railway
you are downtown and exactly at Stazione Brignole.
