The GI-INDEED training package provides a training initiative helping to bridge the lack of knowledge about the use of geo-information in implementing the existing and the forthcoming EU environmental directives at various government levels.

The perspective is to favour a better environmental decision-making by the organisations in charge at the different levels of the process of governance.

The GI-INDEED training package is one of the first European actions addressed at the training on the topics of the INSPIRE Directive.

The GI-INDEED training package is composed of four modules the curriculum of which has been based on the user needs assessment carried out during survey phases and workshops with stakeholders organised in different countries having taken part in the GI-INDEED project.

The GI-INDEED training material has been organised according to the following classification:

• Course: a set of modules and or components provided by a training provider to the trainees or to an organisation;
• Learning component: a training unit;
• Module: a set of components fitting together.
