description

In the territory of the Province of Bologna are present 6 Regional Parks, 2 Regional Reservoirs, 2 Provincial Parks, 13 Areas of Ecological Re-balance, 21 pSIC and 10 ZPS.
The typology of landscapes represented from such areas pass from the high mountain (Corno alle Scale, high 1945 m), with the lakes of the large high Appennino dams (Suviana 144 hectares, Brasiamo 54 hectares); to the hill with the "calanchi", the clay outcrops and the relative cavities basements (es: cave of the Spipola); to the wetlands of the plain attended from numerous species of birds (airone, white Stork, spatola, tarabuso, swamp hawk, cavaliere d’Italia, etc...).
The landscape is strongly characterized also from cultural and historical aspects, between which are remarkable the Memorial to the fallen in the Second World War in Monte Sole and the medieval Abbey of Monteveglio.
In this framework the use case refers mainly to the production of geo-databases and cartography for the Park Plan and for the several running projects that require use of geo-Information, like mapping for hiking and grand-randonnée routes.
As overall the perspective is to embed the geo-information managed by Provincia in a seamless flow that gathers various information from all available sources and exploits it for planning, management and promotion.
More specifically the pursued aims are:

Management (use of geo-information by planners and officers)

Promotion (access to geo-information by citizens)
